We are currently looking for a Category Manager to join our team based in Linton. Working closely with the wider commercial team the successful candidate will take the lead in providing insight and category management to several fresh categories within Dalehead Foods and to its partnering customers.
Acting as an ‘inspiring ambassador’ for Dalehead, the successful candidate will ensure consumer, market, and customer insights are used to demonstrate our category knowledge and understanding, leading our customers thinking to drive joint growth. You will work as an integral part of the Commercial team using customer, consumer and market insights to shape, challenge, build and deliver specific customer plans against agreed business and customer strategic priorities, acting as the consumer champion within the team.
Working with other Category Managers you will deliver key market reports e.g. Christmas/BBQ to meet agreed customer timelines and combine market data sources and research to develop product category strategies and solutions, challenging current thinking and taking a long-term view to drive continual improvement.
You will use a combination of shopper decision tree research, space planning analysis and packaging research in the development of planograms, fixtures and OL packaging and communicate the outcomes from range reviews to all key business stakeholders including marketing, commercial, NPD & production. Always identifying areas of growth / change that represent business opportunities for Dalehead and our customers. You will provide market impact analysis on key Dalehead activity, including major promotions, advertising and growth trends for nominated areas of responsibility and successfully deliver category reviews.

The successful candidate will be of graduate calibre with proven category experience in FMCG short shelf life industry and must have experience working directly with a major retailer. You will have strong data interpretation and analysis skills and be able to convert data to insight as well as communicate complex data. You will have experience in using and interpreting data from 3rd Party databases e.g. Kantar, ACNielsen, IRI, Dunnhumby etc and be an effective influencer and strong team player.
