Title: Hygiene Operatives
Shifts: Various shifts available – Nights / Double Days (Early & Late) / 4 on 4 Off
Scope and purpose of the Role:
To effectively and efficiently clean production and packing areas. Removal of waste material. Clean specified production equipment, comply with the Health, Safety and Hygiene Regulations at all time. The operator will need to be flexible and use a variety of skills, understanding quality, product and safety requirements and be able to handle non routine situations which may arise.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Set up and operate machinery and other equipment in the area within standard operating procedures to achieve required outputs and quality.
Carry out a range of manual tasks and activities and ensure all tasks are finished within permitted time frames.
Check and monitor processes making recommendations for any adjustments necessary to achieve product and process specification.
Strip and clean machinery and equipment following the correct procedures.
Operate high pressure water guns and titration systems for cleaning operations.
Place roll top waste bins on each line and empty as required.
Wash and clean floors in all areas of the Factory.
Transport stillages, dolavs and racks to wash bay from packing halls and Pressing area as necessary for cleaning and return to appropriate departments.
Empty waste containers from production departments as necessary.
Refill soap and towel containers within Factory.
Empty roll top waste containers into skip compactor and operate following the safe system of work procedure.
Collect waste meat containers and store in the appropriate area.
To clean sinks, hand dryers, corridors and etc.
Dispose of all cardboard waste in the correct skip.
To use chemicals in desired concentration and usage.
Dismantle and re assemble line/area equipment and machinery.
To fulfil handback procedure to Production.
Comply with the food and hygiene requirements at all times.
Conform to the Customer quality specifications and requirements at all times.
Operate within the Company health and safety standards at all times and ensure that the work areas are kept clean and tidy.
Reports faults so they can be put right quickly to keep downtime to a minimum.
Help solve problems and make suggestions for improvement so that better ways of doing jobs are identified and implemented.
Qualification and/or experience required.
Previous factory cleaning experience an advantage but not essential. You will need the ability to work independently alongside working within a team of Hygiene staff. The ability to learn and be trained in the required skills will stand you in good stead. Experience with Practical / manual handling skills will be an advantage along with Basic H&S awareness.
Ideally you will have knowledge of COSHH but this can be trained to the right candidates.
