The successful candidate will focus on managing Waitrose deli counter cooked meat and smaller customers for Castellanos charcuterie our artisan British Charcuterie business. This will require customer focus and relationship building, effective category management and NPD planning skills to secure and drive forward the business. You will lead and take ownership of the overall performance of your categories across all sites, with weekly monitoring of results across functions, demonstrating effective management of the account both internally and externally to deliver the highest level of service and customer satisfaction.
Working closely with Waitrose to drive forward sales and achieve budgeted targets you will identify and maintain a product portfolio that generates a profitable sales mix and ensure analysis of standard costing information, market information and consumer trends is carried out on a continuous basis. In addition to negotiating prices with customer/suppliers the successful candidate will also work closely with the wider commercial team to ensure effective use of the business resources as well as liaise and communicate with all internal stakeholders to ensure customer requirements are met and schedules achieved.
You will plan, co-ordinate and review all promotional activity to ensure successful implementation of promotional plans including the budgeting of promotional spend for maximum return and drive category management through triangle meetings between commercial, insight and development to deliver continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will be of graduate calibre with proven commercial experience in FMCG short shelf life industry and a genuine interest in food. Meat industry experience is not essential but a an energetic, positive “can-do” attitude with a desire to drive and deliver the highest levels of customer satisfaction is crucial. You must be customer focused with an ability to champion projects on site and always consider the customer impact of decision making as well as striving to deliver the highest standard of quality for the customer.
You will have excellent communication skills, an innovative and creative style, be able to effectively influence and an overall positive and assertive approach. You will be commercially astute and able to identify opportunities to drive value within the wider marketplace.
