About the Tulip Tipton site

The Tipton site originated over 60 years ago, as part of a diverse family meat business, and as recently as 1993 was slaughtering and processing cattle, pigs, and sheep. Since being purchased by Glanbia (previously Avonmore Foods) in the early 1990's it has evolved in stages to become a leading specialist pork butchery and retail packing operation. The site is now the single largest supplier of pork leg meat cuts to Tulip factories in the UK, and of pork retail packs to major retailers. The site produces fresh pork such as joints, chops, fillets and mince for supermarkets and food service customers.

Training

A majority of employees have obtained NVQ level 2 in Meat and Poultry Processing. All new employees receive thorough food safety/hygiene, and health and safety training.
