We are looking for aspiring butchers to join our Butchery Apprenticeship Programme!
By completing this programme, you will become a qualified Butcher that is able to work independently on production lines in our factories. You will develop knife skills, understand yields, understand food safety and health and safety, identify features of carcases, and produce quality products to meet customer specifications.
You will complete 8 weeks of off-site, residential learning with Bishop Burton College alongside your other apprentices. All expenses, accommodation and food are provided whilst you are at college, and you’ll also be able to take part in fun team-building activities. When not at college, our experienced on-site team will look after your development and make sure that you are learning new skills.
At the end of the programme you will have achieved the following qualifications as a minimum:
Technical certificate in Butchery
Functional Skills in Maths and English Level 1
Level 2 Food Safety
Level 2 Health and Safety in the Food Supply Chain
Level 2 Knife Skills
After your apprenticeship you can progress your career through the ranks in butchery, working on fast-paced lines with other skilled butchers. We offer ongoing development opportunities for those individuals who are keen to progress and ambitious. Many of our previous apprentices are now Team Leaders and Managers.
