Butchery Apprenticeship Programme

We are looking for aspiring butchers to join our Butchery Apprenticeship Programme.

The learning part of this programme is aimed at providing bespoke training to become a qualified butcher. Candidates will develop knife skills, understand yields, understand food safety and health and safety, identify features of carcases, and produce quality products to meet customer specification.

At the end of the programme you will have achieved the following qualifications as a minimum:

Technical Certificate [Includes elements from the FDQ Proficiency in Meat and Poultry qualification]
Functional Skills in Maths and English Level 1
QCF Level 2 Food safety Award
QCF Level 2 Health and Safety in the Food safety Chain
QCF Level 2 Knife Skills

After your apprenticeship you can progress your career through the ranks in butchery, working on fast-paced lines with other skilled butchers. We offer ongoing development opportunities for those individuals who are keen to progress and ambitious. Many of our previous apprentices are now Team Leaders and Managers.

There are nationwide opportunities and all butchery apprenticeships will begin in September 2019.
