We have an exciting opportunity for a Development Technologist at our Linton site, to deliver NPD & Innovation projects up to point of handover but working with the process team during trial stage to support high quality launches. As key member of the team, the successful candidate will contribute to innovation projects and will always be looking for new processes, ingredients and products that can drive the Dalehead Foods innovation agenda.

You will contribute to the business NPD plan and strategy working across a breadth of NPD tasks to ensure that all NPD is seamlessly delivered. This will be delivered by generating ideas, sourcing ingredients & developing products in the kitchen alongside our team of chefs, whilst owning and driving non-kitchen elements of development such as costings, nutritionals, submission forms etc.

The successful candidate will deliver against the Dalehead stage gate procedure, ensuring that accurate information is provided as well as follow all relevant NPD & site procedures to contribute to the continual improvement of the NPD process. You will be aware of critical paths for all work streams and ensure that action is taken, and priorities are set to deliver projects within this, raising issues to the Development Manager when appropriate. In addition, you will monitor, manage and lead category specific work streams ensuring that projects are delivered within the critical path and to agreed deadlines from concept to handover.

In addition to having a full understanding and experience of costing as well as retailer, Tulip and Dalehead guidelines, the successful candidate will also be aware of factory capabilities and ensure these are taken into consideration as part of the feasibility process. You will be actively involved in idea generation and tastings with regards to this process and be focussed on ensuring all products are of the best quality.

You will have the opportunity to build a strong relationship with the retailer and be an expert in the culinary, market and factory specifics for their categories.

The successful candidate ideally have a degree in a related field, or proven experience in a similar role and will be able to confidently present, focussing on food values, inspiration, consumer and feasibility whilst ensuring customer expectations are managed in a positive and proactive manner. You will be passionate about food with a knowledge of culinary techniques, cuisines and food trends and actively keep abreast of new food and restaurant trends. This could be a development opportunity for the right candidate.

Ideally you will have a knowledge of butchery skills and techniques and able to link your food knowledge with this butchery expertise to ensure that we excel in delivering great meat products and drive our food business culture.
