Based from either our Linton or Bury St Edmunds sites, we are looking for a Divisional Projects Engineering Manager to join the Dalehead team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Director and as a functional expert, this role is key to driving and delivering key capital investment projects for the division. You will determine and define project scope and objectives by working closely with Site Directors, Finance Controllers & the site Engineering Managers as well as predict and provide guidance on required to achieve the objectives of each project and ensure the relevant resources are managed in an effective and efficient manner. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing the project budgets based on the scope of work and the resource requirements and prepare the associated capital investment submissions. Once projects are approved you will continue to project manage by tracking the costs to ensure these are kept in line with the prepared budgets, ensure a project schedule and work plan are in place and adhered to and in a timely manner ensure updates are provided to various stakeholders regarding strategy, adjustments, and progress.
The successful candidate will ensure all aspects of the projects are fully managed, this includes everything from contracts with vendors and suppliers to assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables, to utilising industry best practices and techniques and ensuring required standards are maintained throughout the entire project execution, including CDM and F10 submissions if required. You will monitor progress and make adjustments as needed, oversee all contractors on site and of course work closely with site HSE team.
You will be passionate about engineering excellence and will have proven experience of delivering operational excellence and driving through change with an innovative and collaborative approach. You will be customer focused and committed to the development of people. You will have experience of managing multiple, large scale projects (over £1m), be fully au fait with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices, be able to demonstrate the commitment to see projects through the full life cycle and have excellent analytical skills. You will have strong interpersonal skills, be extremely resourceful and relevant qualifications in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering. Your experience will be from construction project management, ideally within the pharmaceutical or FMCG manufacturing industry. You will have knowledge and experience of CDM, as well as a good understanding and working knowledge of Auto-Cad. Ideally the successful candidate will also have a HSE qualification, preferably NEBOSH.
