Title: Engineering Supervisor
Shift/Working hours: 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts (days and nights)
Plan work and resources flexibly within own area/department, allocate tasks on a daily basis, making adjustments as necessary to meet scheduled production and company targets.
Monitor quality of output, react to variances and record management information to ensure costs, quality and production targets are achieved.
Constantly seek ways in which efficiency can be increased and labour costs and waste can be reduced.
Understand and enforce H&S procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Assess Engineering Downtime and take a proactive approach in Engineering Planned Maintenance via Holistic programme
To prepare weekend maintenance work orders (including service for weekend)
Must be aware of all KPI indicators, i.e. ways in which efficiency can be increased and labour costs and waste can be reduced
Apply problem solving techniques to resolve operating problems and recommend improvements to maintain operation running costs at planned level.
Maintain and apply a technical expertise to act as a point of reference for team members, to resolve complex problems and give the team direction.
Liaise and communicate with the team and other departments to keep them informed of progress, to resolve issues and to ensure the efficient running of the area.
Carry out assessments on team members in relation to performance and training needs to ensure the team operates effectively and targets are met.
To be responsible for absence management, staff disciplinary procedure/back to work procedures and to consistently manage staffing levels
Time management for department employees to be measured and controlled
To promote a culture of dignity and respect amongst staff.
To monitor Health and Safety and Training for own department and review and rectify as required.
To deputize for the Engineering Manager at weekends and when required.
Ability to take on financial and personnel projects, to procedure documented results with findings, savings and improvements needed.
The job holder will be required to sit a 6 monthly performance review.
