Title: Pressing Operator
Monday to Friday – 3pm til Midnight
We are looking to recruit an Operator within our Pressing department who will play a key role in maintaining an efficient running of production lines on the site.
The site is operational 5 days a week; therefore a flexible approach is a must to ensure that a consistent level of service is provided to all departments and shifts.
You will be required to undertake all of the following (this is not an exhaustive list):
Set up, changeover and operate machinery and other equipment in the area within standard operating procedures to achieve required outputs and quality.
Check and monitor processes making recommendations for any adjustments necessary to achieve product and process specification.
Help solve problems and make suggestions for improvement so that better ways of doing jobs are identified and implemented.
To be fully conversant in the Arolink and labelling system and able to do all department paperwork.
Remove product from bar racks and place into pressing machine.
Remove the pressed piece of bacon from the exit chute and place it on the conveyor.
Remove the pressed pieces of bacon from the conveyor and place it into a metal stillage, dolav or rack.
Cover the top with the blue or green plastic sheet when the stillage or dolav is full or fold in liner.
Use a pallet truck to take the frozen product from the blast freezer or the accumulator to the presses.
The successful applicant will:
Previous line/cold room experiences an advantage
Ability to work independently
Practical/manual handling skills
Basic H&S Awareness
Ability to learn and be trained in required skills
Potential to develop at Area Leader level
