Developing long term partnerships with our strategic customers is key and the role of Supply Chain Development Manager is pivotal to achieving this. Liaising with our key customers and agricultural colleagues you will be responsible for ensuring that customer on-farm standards and audit requirements are met. Combining agricultural expertise and commercial acumen you will build upon the existing collaborative relationships with Tulip’s retail and manufacturing partners and develop strategic points of difference within their pigmeat supply chains to complement their corporate and social responsibility commitments and help them stand out from their competitors.
To bring this all together you will be expected to work closely with our farming supply base to encourage continuous improvement through the sharing of knowledge/best practice and alignment of sustainability goals.
Key responsibilities will include:-
Lead liaison providing agricultural support to strategic customers
Facilitating customer agricultural compliance (on farm standards)
Working with Scottish farmers to differentiate our Scottish supply chain
Develop points of difference within our agricultural supply chains to align with our strategic customers and their CSR commitments
Providing management reports/data analysis
Enhancing Supply Chain Traceability & Transparency through Electronic Data Capture
The Right Person
You will be someone who communicates easily with others, is able to develop collaborative business relationships and is customer focussed. You will have previous experience within agriculture and animal husbandry, preferably within high welfare pig production and a comprehensive understanding of FMCG supply chains.
In addition, you will have the following skills:
Degree 2:1 or equivalent
Full Drivers Licence
The ability to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative
Excellent communications skills (written/Verbal) and customer facing.
Strong computer literacy skills and competent in the use of bespoke systems
Ideally experienced in working with retailers
