We are looking for an energetic an bubbly person to join our Senior Leadership Team. As Technical Manager you will support the strategic Company and site goals and ensure specific (food safety, customer) technical requirements are met and reflect the Company objectives. You will have overall control of food safety and quality assurance on site.

This is an exciting position within the site and you will work on the implementation and development of all internal and external quality assurance systems. You will control and development of the hygiene and pest control functions.

You will be part of the senior site management team and responsible for managing site technical team and customer relations.

You will be responsible for Developing and leading the site technical strategy, whilst actively support quality assessment and ensure that corrective actions are completed.

Key Accountabilities:

Develop, implement and maintain systems, HACCP, traceability and mass balance capability.

Ensure the internal audit schedule is a proactive detailed assessment of the QMS and drives a program of continuous improvement.

Understand risk to the business and escalate where appropriate.

Proactively horizon scan and take an interest in new technologies and their potential to improve the business.

Improve audit compliance, ensuring there is a site audit plan and robust closure of non-compliance within agreed timescales.

Communicate audit requirements, ensuring the team understand the detail of what is expected and share findings with group colleagues where appropriate.

Review data from relevant authorities and industry authorities and apply learnings to the site.

Develop the site Quality Improvement Plan in conjunction with the site leadership team and deliver own actions within.

Complete gap analysis against industry and customer requirements and incorporate additional requirements into the QMS.

Effective leadership of the technical team; driving accountability of team members, empowers team members and delegates tasks and clear succession plan in place.

Proactively review employee survey results and implement a specific action plan that delivers improvements for the technical team.

Ensure the technical team are adequately trained and that personal and technical skills are developed.

Work with the training team to review KPIs, actual compliance levels and COP changes across site.

Invest time in other departments to develop a site understanding of technical requirements.

Actively encourage the collection and trending of data as an improvement tool.

Manage and build good working relationships with the site’s customers; communicating in a proactive way and encouraging regular dialogue.

Ensure customer website interfaces are managed in accordance with agreed deadlines, e.g. visit reports, audit closure and alerts.

Report accurate KPIs, communicate trends and implement change.
