We have donated 500 fluid-repellent face masks to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital from our King Lynn site.

The donation follows an appeal for businesses and communities across Norfolk to help secure supplies of Personal Protective Equipment for workers in vital services.

The decision to donate the surplus masks was based on the urgency of need and Tulip’s position, in line with government guidelines, that recognised the benefit primacy of using masks in clinical or care settings over its operational conditions.

We therefore made the decision to donate its surplus masks to support front line NHS in the local area. The masks were delivered to the hospital by Andy Shepherdson, Site Director at Tulip King’s Lynn.

Mike Wijnberg, Group Technical Director at Tulip, states: We’re humbled by the incredible work of front line NHS staff and we’re pleased that we can do our bit to help them where we can. We’re working closely with local charities and health care providers and charities to see where we can offer support with supplies, equipment and food.

“We’re taking all the necessary steps in order to protect our people and maintain our supply chain so that we can continue to deliver food to the nation. We’re immensely proud of the role our people have played in the current climate and would like to thank them for their hard work.”

Chris Starkie, Chief Executive of New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “We’d like to thank Tulip for their donation, which will be vital for front line health workers. It has been great to see the business community come together and I’ve no doubt that our local firms will continue to do all they can to support this appeal.”
